" BOOK ' " NIGHT on the ISONZO
In Night on ' Isonzo Rebula resumes the cycle of novels that protagonist is a religious and is inspired by a priest actually existed, don Filip Torcelj.
Describes the tragic parable of don Florijan Burnik, confined by fascism in Campobasso, then locked away from national socialism in the lager of Dachau, then brutally murdered by communism.
Through its history, Rebula outlines and recovers the memory of other priests and people who have been working in the name of freedom against the totalitarianism of the 20th century.
There is, in the story, a constant tension between the ' man and God, man and history ', till ' last, painful inner reconciliation.
