Presentation of the book "Candida" by prof. Claudio Ronco, Asiago, Asiago plateau, December 28, 2015
Monday, December 28, 2015 at 17.00 at the Palazzo del Turismo Millepini of Asiago, professor Claudio Ronco, internationally renowned nephrologist, will present his book entitled "Cantor".
The meeting, organized in collaboration with the Library Giunti Al Punto di Asiago, represents an excellent opportunity to know both the author and his book, is to deepen the work of this extraordinary man who, thanks to the invention of machinery "Cantor", managed to save the life of a child affected by hemorrhagic shock and severe renal insufficiency.
During the presentation of the book, Ronco will dialogue with the author Piero Banks.

Introduction by Umberto Veronesi. A book that tells three stories: that of Lisa, the girl hit by hemorrhagic shock and severe renal insufficiency, Claudio Ronco, the doctor inventor, number one in the world but also Nephrology mountain man, and his latest creation, Cantor or the dialysis machine of infants, hence the title of the book.
The three stories are interwoven in alternating sets and different narrative rhythms: the pacing excitedly save the little girl in a hospital ward by a team of specialists from different disciplines who don't eat and sleep for hours and days; professional growth rhythms milder young Claudio that starting from the Asiago plateau and forego college career, becoming physician-scientist, citizen of the world; determined and methodical construction of a unique machine and a Department of research and care now known as ' Vicenza ' method and copied by major medical clinics on every continent.
The tragedy of the disease, the rigour of the research, the romantic magic of the Asiago plateau with the Woods loved by Rigoni Stern, the dedication of doctors-scientists rich in humanity, the hope and joy of healing are the tones that alternate with continuity and harmony and make for compelling storytelling.
