Thursday, 3 December 2019, at the Council Chamber of the Town Hall of Asiago, there will be the presentation of the book "Terre Bruciate-Pasubio, Altopiano dei Sette Comuni, Monte Grappa", a tale of the territory by the voice stream of witnesses and through new photos before and after the great war.

The meeting will start at 17.00 hours, with the involvement of the authors Luigino Cabanero and Andrea Vollman.

BURNED LANDS

Pasubio, Altopiano dei Sette Comuni, Monte Grappa: journey to the land that no longer exists. 248 pages, with an introduction by Mario Isnenghi documenting precisely the Altopiano dei Sette Comuni, the Pasubio and Monte Grappa before, during and after the great war. Is a path in time marked by historical frameworks and by rumors of direct witnesses of the events. However, the images speak for themselves. There are over 200, mostly unpublished, many from aerial photography and largely reproduced full page: offer the reader a completely different point of view from the war so told by other publications highlighting the horror of devastation on the Highland territory after nearly four years of senseless fighting.

LUIGINO CABANERO

Vicenza, is a photojournalist and aviation historical researcher. Specializing in aerial photographs air – air, works with all major world aviation magazines and has published more than twenty books of photographic and historical character dedicated to aviation. Among his most recent works on historical subject ALI from the ADIGE to the BRENTA, a photographic reconstruction of the role of aviation in the Alpine sector (Aviani .2015 Publishers), the French air force IN ITALY, 1915-1918 (AVIATION Issues 2016), MILITARY AMERICANS IN ITALY (Rossato Publisher 2017), made with Andrea Vollman and Francis Banks and ROSSO CORSA (Luckyplanebooks 2017) on the glories of idrovelocità Schneider trophy race. With the DBS editions, in 2017 posted with Luca Girotto, focus on ORTIGARA, volume on the use of French Railway artillery during the battle of Mount Ortigara. In 2013 he was awarded the title PIONEERS of AERONAUTICAL PROGRESS for his work as a popularizer and promulgator of aeronautical knowledge.

ANDREA VOLLMAN

Was born in Padua. He graduated in philosophy, he is interested in history and literature. He is the author of several collections of poetry for the "editions of the Dioscuri", Angelo Baclig. The assiduous of Altopiano dei Sette Comuni, leads to the creation, with Francesco Brazzale, of "the great war, the British on the Altopiano dei Sette Comuni" and "the great war, French on the plateau of the seven Common", Gino Rais Publisher. With Francis Banks and Luigino Cabanero has created "great war, Americans in Italy, the birth of a superpower", Gino Rais Publisher. With Marco Chapman is author of "Freya and Vera, la forza delle donne", Priam Publisher, on the figures of Freya Stark and Vera Brittain. The historical interest is manifested also through visits to sites and meetings with associations, libraries and educational institutions.
