Presentation of the book "the House IN CONTRA SEGA-Pedescala, April 30, 1945", Asiago, August 3, 2016
Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at 17.30, at the Council Chamber of Asiago, will present the book "the HOUSE IN CONTRA ' SEGA-Pedescala, April 30, 1945".
The book, which tells the story of life in Valdastico during World War II, was written by Claudio Dal Pozzo.
The meeting will be an opportunity to delve into the history and traditions of our country and neighboring ones.
The House in Contrà Pedescala Saw
Live eight years out of the parents was not simple. These were the years of the second world war, when the author was led to the Pedescala in contrà Sega, as it was called in the 17th century by notaries vampire the locality where the grandmother's House. Bygone days, no phone, no radio: coach of F.lli Asiago Church was the only link with the outside world. Who owned a bicycle moving with that.
The author recalls the world populated by the stories he heard in the night slipped by. Remember the characters in the country, the sufferings of wartime, games that don't cost anything, the days of snow. In those years he saw many young people go to the front, others climbing in the mountains. Heard of attacks, of castor oil, partisans and fascists, of roundups. Was fear. Then one day in 1945 the Germans occupied his house, was the prelude to the massacre of 30 April, which saw a spectator aghast.
After his return to Rome by parents took an early interest in the events of the various families of Pedescala family tree, history, reconstruction of the country and of the seven municipalities of Vicenza. Then came the readings of notarial acts from the 17th and 18th centuries, a trip back in time looking for characters who have stimulated imagination. The love for the land, where he spent his early childhood living in each of the pages of this book
