The meeting will begin at 17.30 hours and will be an excellent opportunity to get to know the author and his text, which seeks to clarify the affair of the two Italian Marines arrested in India for allegedly shooting two fishermen during an anti-piracy operation.

On February 15, 2012 in the Indian Ocean two fishermen are killed by a volley of shots fired from a cargo ship. On the same day the Enrica Lexie, Italian oil tanker carrying a Military Core protection, rejected an attempt at boarding. Within hours the Italian ship reversed course and Moor in the harbour of Kochi, and a few days later the two marine riflemen, Massimiliano Latorre and Salvatore Group, were arrested. Thus began the "case Marines", a story that has become a judicial limbo done approximate investigations, grueling debates about jurisdiction and functional immunity, referrals and nothing done.
Toni Capuozzo reconstructs the events, starting with the law allowing military personnel aboard commercial vessels. Explains the legal tangle that has trapped two friendly countries, Italy and India, and the weight of economic and political interests that have influenced each other, three Governments and five Italian Foreign Ministers. But especially reconstructs the incident of 15 February bringing out all the contradictions and shortcomings of the Indian investigation and advancing a hypothesis of innocence of two soldiers, never endorsed by the Italian diplomacy. Latorre and Group have always said "we're innocent." But no one believed him. Why?
