Literary prize Mario Rigoni Stern at Malga Manazzo Door, Asiago-June 18, 2017

Saturday, June 18, 2017, at Malga Manazzo Port, you will assign the Prize Mario Rigoni Stern for Multilingual literature of the Alps, this year in its seventh edition.

The awards ceremony will begin at 10.00 hours.

An award from many souls on Mario Rigoni Stern. Next to the languages you do writing, literature, research and study to tell the manifold Alpine identity here is a section "the guardians of the Ark" who wants to be recognised at a person who stood out for his life and for activities in defence of the landscape, land and roots.

For this reason, for the coexistence of cultures and traditions of the most diverse, the Premio Mario Rigoni Stern starts to be more and more a point of reference for the Alpine world in its complexity and richness. And this year's winners – celebrated and rewarded both in Venice Saturday 17 June both Asiago Sunday 18 June – I'm full expression.

Saturday, June 17 (17 hours) at Palazzo Labia in Venice, prestigious seat of RAI of Veneto, the prize winners of 2017 will talk and talk about their work: Diego Lions with the essay "vertical war" (Einaudi) and Matthew Melchiorre with "the Schenèr" (Marsilio).
The awards will be given space to works recommended by the jury: "Le temps suspendu. De Noël à the Épiphanie"by Alexis Bétemps (Priuli & Verlucca),"eight mountains" by Paul Chakrabarty (Einaudi) and"Rocky snow of lead"by Andrea Nicolussi Golo (Priuli & Verlucca).

For the occasion will also feature School Mark, the first to win recognition of the new section ofthe guardians of the Ark".

Could not miss a Highlands ceremony related to the biography and work of Stern and indeed on Sunday 18 July – 10 hours – you'll end up to Malga Manazzo Port in Asiago – to celebrate literary winners yet, reported and Marco.
And maybe there was no place better suited to emphasize a link between mountain people – although at different latitudes – a place which produces high quality cheese.

THE AWARD

The "Prize Mario Rigoni Stern for Multilingual literature of the Alps" was founded in 2010, two years after the death of the writer asiaghese, to honor the memory and testimony in defense of natural and cultural heritage of the mountain at the initiative of the Veneto region, the municipality of Asiago, the autonomous province of Trento.

The award was created to encourage the development of the cultural context polyglot that references the Alps, promoting a merit competition works of fiction and non-fiction devoted to the Alps, to their landscape and their people. Established with the intent to honor the memory of Mario Rigoni Stern and his work, the award aims to perpetuate the values of brotherhood among peoples, to respect the environment, humanity alpina.

The award is dedicated to fiction and nonfiction by mountain expressed in all the languages of the Alps (Italian Franco-Provençal, French, Slovenian, German, Ladin and Romansh) has annually and is divided into two sections: fiction and nonfiction, each two years. The contest for non-fiction is based in Asiago (VI) with award ceremony in odd-numbered years, while that for fiction is based in Riva del Garda (TN) with prize giving in even-numbered years.

This event is linked also to the historical literary genre great war of which Mario Rigoni Stern wrote.
