The idea of this book was born in 2012, when the author had the opportunity to view a "unique and unpublished" register, which remained closed and hidden in a wooden box for over 67 years.

This "discovery" ignites the desire to tell an important and little-known aspect of the Vicenza Resistance: that of political imprisonment. A theme that closely unites the war and military events with the tragic reality of arrests, imprisonments, tortures, sometimes so cruel as to be a cause of death.

This work is the thin thread that binds the common history and the human events of thousands of people, artisans and non-artisans, who have known and suffered the brutality of imprisonment, physical suffering and the anguish that it has caused. A page of tragic and painful history deliberately forgotten.
