On the evenings of February 27, 28 and 29, 2024, the traditional festival of "Schella Marz" or "Schella Marzo" returns to animate the center of Asiago!
This anniversary, which in Cimbrian means "March rings", has always been warmly celebrated on the Asiago Plateau in the last days of February to greet winter and invoke the arrival of spring.
The spirit of "Schella Marz" is rooted in an ancient ritual that symbolizes the awakening of nature from its long winter sleep. Through this festival, adults and children express the desire for a quick coming of spring, sharing a community moment to say goodbye to the cold season and welcome the new one that is about to arrive.
All with the parade of the "bandoni" and the burning of the "vecia"!
These events are an invitation to everyone, residents and visitors, to join in joy and noise, actively participating in one of the most heartfelt and characteristic traditions of the Plateau.

THE PROGRAM OF SCHELLA MARZ 2024
Tuesday 27 and Wednesday 28 February 2024, from 20:00 (meeting in Piazza II Risorgimento) — Traditional parade of bandons to say goodbye to winter at the Historic Center of Asiago
Thursday, February 29, 2024, from 8 :00 p.m. (meeting in Piazza II Risorgimento) — Final evening of the event with a parade of bandons and, at about 9:00 p.m., fire at the "Vecia" at the Martiri della Libertà parking lot.
RULES OF PARTICIPATION
All children, young people, children accompanied by parents or adults who are in possession of a row of " bandoni" prepared in such a way as to be easily maneuverable during towing (exclusively manually), especially on curves, to avoid any obstacle and damage to cars parked on the sides of the road (everyone is responsible for their own row of bins).
The row of "Bandoni" must consist only of bins, cans or other metal containers. If the row contains "improper materials" (mufflers, sheet metal, headboards, etc.) it will be excluded from the parade. However, the row must not exceed 15 meters in length and 2 meters in width.
The winner of the SCHELLA will be chosen by a special jury.
Only those who participate in ALL THREE EVENINGS of the Schella Marz can aspire to win the SCHELLA.
