Cesuna is getting ready to welcome the festive rhythm of Schella Marzo, a traditional village festival that marks the end of winter and the beginning of spring.
The festival will be held on Sunday, March 31, 2024, with a meeting at 20:00 at the square of the Church of Cesuna, an important moment of aggregation for the local community and for visitors eager to immerse themselves in the most authentic traditions of the Asiago 7 Municipalities Plateau.
Schella Marzo is a ritual that has its roots in the ancient customs of the area, to celebrate a moment of transition, saying goodbye to the cold winter and a warm welcome to spring. This year, the coincidence with Easter adds an even deeper meaning to the event, emphasizing the theme of rebirth and renewal that both holidays embody.
Participation is open to all those who wish to share this special moment, starting at 8:30 p.m . for a festive tour of the country.
Participants are invited to bring with them "busoloti, snatare, bandoti and pignate", traditional and non-traditional instruments, which will serve to create a great din. This noise is not accidental, but has the symbolic objective of chasing away winter, with its long nights and cold, to make room for the rebirth that spring brings with it. It is a way to awaken the earth and its energies, welcoming the new season with joy and cheerfulness.
As per tradition, the culmination of the celebration will be at the station square, where the puppet representing winter will be burned, a symbolic gesture that definitively seals the farewell to the cold season.
Don't miss the chance to be part of this unique event, where the past meets the present in a celebration that warms the heart and prepares the spirit for the summer.
