SCHELLA MARZ in Cesuna to greet the arrival of spring from home !
The Pro Loco of Cesuna offers everyone to participate on Wednesday 31/03/2021 at 20.00,at a Schella Marzo (from the cimbro Suona Marzo) different from the usual!
Due to the current epidemic situation and current regulations, you will not be able to take to the streets to celebrate as is traditional, but nothing prevents you from facing the windows and balconies of your own home to make five minutes "de bacan", with "snatare, bandoti e pignate" in order to be equally together with this ancient tradition of the Plateau.
This year too, as in 2020, we burn this winter that goes like this, each from his home, with the hope that we can soon be together!
TRADITION:Traditionally the Schella Marz event is proposed as a noisy and cheerful greeting at the arrival of the spring season,after the cold winter months. As a rule, long lines of bans, schelles and whatsoecures are run through the streets of the hamlet by children, children and adults. And in the end the "vecia" is set on fire as if to symbolize the old season that vanishes.
This is a recognized anniversary throughout the Plateau,which in Cesuna is honored a few weeks late:the sun,in fact, blocked by the heights that surround the hamlet, can not immediately dissolve frost and snow that, pausing longer, postpone the awakening of spring.
