Dove la sorte ti ha voluto chiamare Paolo Seno

Saturday, August 27, 2022, at the Forte Corbin in Treschè Conca di Roana, there will be a literary meeting with the writer Paolo Seno who will present his latest book: "Where fate wanted to call you", the story of Angelo Astolfoni, second lieutenant explorer in the Great War.

The event "Scrittori al Forte Corbin", organized in collaboration with the Libreria Giunti al Punto di Asiago, will start at 15:30 and is free of charge

"WHERE FATE WANTED TO CALL YOU"

A package of free-range postcards written in 1916 by an officer of Venice, Angelo Astolfoni known as Nino. A series of discoveries that gave that boy a face and revealed his life, passions, moral profile, military events. It is a research that lasted several years that led the author to consult documents, bibliographic sources, and the testimonies preserved in the military archives of Rome and Vienna. This and much more is the basis of the writing of a novel that, taking as a pretext the life of Nino, casts a glance on the ideals and aspirations of the generation that moved in the context rich in cultural ferments of Venice at the beginning of '900, but which was overwhelmed by the first of the tragedies that characterized the "short century". A story that, without any concession to rhetoric, represents a tribute to the memory of our history.

Paolo Seno was born in Venice in 1959. In his hometown he attended the International School of Graphics, and currently works as a Senior Graphic Designer at a US company. He has been cultivating for years a passion for the history of the Great War. He has collaborated with various associations, and has been invited to compose essays and prefaces for various publications. For his research work he was awarded the Ehrenkreuz honour granted to him by the Österreichische Schwarze Kreuz, the Austrian institution that works at European level for the consolidation of peace.
