Vittorio Pierobon presenta Per Ambrogio

On Sunday, July 27, 2025, at 4:30 p.m., in the evocative setting of Forte Corbin , the first appointment of the usual literary review "Writers at the Fort" awaits you, which hosts the journalist Vittorio Pierobon with his latest book "For Ambrogio – the child saved by the generosity of Venetians and Friulians".

The volume, published in January 2025 by Supernova, tells a true story that moved the Northeast by unleashing a tsunami of solidarity to save little Ambrogio suffering from a rare disease

Ambrogio's struggle for survival also involved Pope John Paul II and the President of the Republic Sandro Pertini and then, thanks to the determination of the parents, the courage of the journalists Giorgio Lago and Mario Rapisardi, the support of the newspaper "Il Gazzettino" and above all thanks to the great generosity of the people of the Northeast, the child was able to be treated.

The author will tell the details and implications of this complicated story that still makes us dream today because it tells of fundamental but fragile values such as trust in others, altruism and hope.

  • The event will take place in the area in front of the bar of Forte Corbin.
  • It's free.

Vittorio Pierobon was born on the Lido of Venice. He writes for Il Gazzettino, a newspaper of which he was deputy director for 15 years. During his career he has dealt with the great events of the Northeast, from the years of lead and the Red Brigades to the Brenta mob, from the fire of the Fenice to the troubled construction of the Mose. He was president of the Order of Journalists of Veneto and is an attentive witness and chronicler of the changes in the Northeast.
Loving to define himself as a "hunter of stories", he is the author of several books: The roots of the future. The protagonists of Veneto (Marsilio), Tourism in Venice and Veneto (Supernova) and Ecochallenges (Ediciclo).
