Snowshoeing
forte Lisser

Friday 5 January 2024 between 9.30 am and 3.00 pm

GOAL: Fort Lisser in the Asiago Plateau and the Seven Municipalities (VI)

The guide will take you on a passionate analysis of the landscape, transformed by man and the events of war. We will tell how the woods were of primary importance in the lives of men, how pastures were opened for livestock, and how the exploitation of tourism has sometimes distorted the territory.

Ancient landscapes, where time has stopped and everything smells of magic, lead us to the highest point where the recently restored Lisser Fort stands, also known as the Lion of the Plateau.

At this strategic point you can enjoy a boundless view of the Dolomite chains: from the Lagorai to the Pale di S. Martino, passing through the Vette Feltrine, and the villages of the valleys below.

Every historical moment, and not only the Great War, but also for example Vaia has left clearly visible signs, which we will discover together step by step.

Reservations are mandatory.

DIFFICULTY: we assign a difficulty on a scale from 1 (very easy) to 5 (challenging)

The route is a loop and does not present any particular technical difficulties. It develops between mountain paths and dirt roads. The difference in height is less than 350 m, there are no exposed sections.

The route will be established a few days before the event based on weather conditions and the presence of ice/snow.

WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU: waterproof mountain boots, layered clothing suitable for the mountain climate, waterproof jacket, water or hot tea for the duration of the excursion, a small snack such as dried fruit, sunglasses, hat, gloves, PACKED LUNCH, any waterproof blanket to sit down for lunch.

COST: €25 for the guided excursion per person, €10 for children under 15 and season ticket holders.

Snowshoes and poles can be rented: €10 per person.

In the event that there is not enough snow, you will proceed on foot without the aid of snowshoes.

MEETING POINT: 9.30 a.m. at the parking lot of the Restaurant Baita Monte Lisser - Località Tombal, 5, 36052 Enego VI -

We start on foot from the meeting place.
