GOAL: Fort Verena 2020m - Altopiano dei Sette Comuni (VI)
In case there is not enough snow it will be a walk.
Step by step we enter the fir and larch forest, where we will learn about the main species of plants in the upper area.
Here we follow the main road to the summit of Monte Verena (2020 m) from which you can enjoy an incredible 360 degree panorama, both on the Alpine chain and on the Plain.
The imposing Forte Verena, an Italian war work of the First World War, has dominated this peak for more than a hundred years. Its ruins make us take a dip in the past that takes us back to the first days of the war and to deepen the various aspects that characterized the "War of the Strong".
Together, in the quiet of the mountains, we can therefore "not forget" and feel even more grateful for these times of peace, with the tranquility and well-being that comes with it and we enjoy today.
Before the descent it is possible to have a packed lunch or at the Forte Verena Refuge, which boasts a tasty typical cuisine.
Reservations are required.
DIFFICULTY: we assign a difficulty 4 on a scale from 1 (very easy) to 5 (challenging)
The route is a ring and does not present particular technical difficulties, there are no exposed sections. It develops between mountain paths and dirt roads. The difference in height uphill is less than 500 m.
TO BRING WITH YOU: mountain boots, layered clothing suitable for the mountain climate, waterproof jacket, water or hot tea for the duration of the excursion (at least 1 liter), a small snack such as dried fruit, sunglasses, cap, gloves.
COST: 20€ for the guided excursion. 5€ for children under 15 years.
Possible snowshoes and poles rental: € 10 per person.
