Sunday 12 May 2024 between 9.30 am and 12.30 pm
GOAL: Monte Cengio - Asiago Plateau and Seven Municipalities (VI)
The mule track, the tunnels and the legendary Salto del Granatiere, make this route one of the most evocative among our mountains.
In May 1916, with the start of the Spring Offensive, the Italians were forced to retreat to the edge of the Plateau. The entire mountain was fortified by building tunnels and passages overlooking the Valdastico below , giving us breathtaking views today.
The work and sacrifice of the soldiers remains imprinted among these ledges that will give you a mountain of emotions especially with the view visible from this route.
Reservations are mandatory.
DIFFICULTY: we assign a difficulty of 3 on a scale from 1 (very easy) to 5 (challenging)
The route does not present particular technical difficulties, it is characterized by the presence of mountain paths, mule tracks, tunnels and some stretches of asphalt road, rarely busy. The mule track is located overlooking the Val d'Astico, the route is secured by the presence of handrails, but it is still exposed. The elevation gain is less than 350m.
