Guided Excursion "FRONT SOUTH: English Sector - Guided Excursion with Dinner in The Refuge" - with Plateau Guides - Mountain Professionals

This route is ideal for those who want to know a little-known aspect of the Great War,the Intervention of the Allies to defend the southern edge of the Plateau, an ideal barrier that contained the imperial army on the chain of mountains placed at the bulwark of the Veneta plain.

In November 1917, to parry the consequences of Caporetto, the British expeditionary corps B.E.F. (British Expeditionary Force Italy) arrived in Italy, to which were added by firemen, mortars, genius and logistics. The British introduce new tactics: they precede the offensives with a night war of patrols.

This was to avoid the static of the trench: it tended to result in a state of passivity for men. There are many stories related to these departments: some speak of sports matches to dampen the tension of wartime, others of battles won thanks to rum dropped in enemy hands.
