Destination: Monte Verena - Asiago Plateau 7 Municipalities
On the occasion of the Made in Malga 2026 event, Asiago Guide offers this experience among the Malghe.
There are places where nature has slowly re-conquered the spaces once managed by man. On the slopes of Mount Verena we will walk through woods and pastures where ancient mountain huts now disappeared stood, following the traces left by work and memory.
An excursion that tells the story of the ever-changing Alpine landscape, where time
transform paths, trees and pastures without erasing their history. At the end we will visit a
malga still in operation, guardian of the traditions of the Plateau.
There will also be a tasting of local products to get to know the area at 360 degrees.

The initiative is also intended to be a tribute to Mario Rigoni Stern, who just twenty years ago published his latest book, Seasons. The slow passage of time shapes man, pastures, mountain huts and their cheeses. Step by step, accompanied by the words of the "singer of the Plateau", we will visit places rich in history and nature, meet the protagonists of the mountain and taste the products that tell the story of the territory.
📈DIFFICULTY: we assign a difficulty 2 on a scale from 1 (very easy) to 5 (challenging). The route does not present any particular technical difficulties, is suitable for everyone and develops between dirt roads and mountain paths. The uphill elevation gain is less than 250 m, there are no exposed sections.
🎒TO BRING ALONG: mountain boots, layered clothing suitable for the mountain climate, waterproof jacket, backpack with water for the duration of the excursion (at least 1 liter), a small snack such as dried fruit, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat.
🫰COST: €15 for the guided excursion per person. €10 for children under 15 and season ticket holders. Participants will be offered a taste of local products.
