Destination: Malga Larici di Sotto - Asiago Plateau Seven Municipalities

The shelving of the mountain huts tells the story of the weather better than any calendar. Each wheel of cheese, on its shelf, pampered, oiled, ... it changes from season to season. 

Tasting it we will be able to taste the pastures, the work of man, the evolution of the cheese that slowly changes and matures. Accompanied by the words of Mario Rigoni Stern, we will travel through Val Formica to discover the cycle of the mountain pastures and the refinement of cheeses, understanding how time, climate and mountains contribute to creating a unique product. 

A journey through nature, culture and flavors that encapsulates the essence of the Plateau.

During the excursion we will also  taste the aged cheeses of Malga!

The initiative also wants to be a tribute to Mario Rigoni Stern, who just twenty years ago

published his latest book, Seasons. The slow passage of time shapes man, pastures,

the mountain huts and their cheeses. Step by step, accompanied by the words of the "singer

of the Plateau", we will visit places rich in history and nature, we will meet the protagonists of the

mountain and we will taste the products that tell the story of the territory.

📈DIFFICULTY: we assign a difficulty 2 on a scale from 1 (very easy) to 5 (challenging)

The route is circular and develops between mountain paths and dirt roads. The uphill elevation gain is less than 220 m, there are no exposed sections.

🎒TO BRING WITH YOU: mountain boots, layered clothing suitable for the mountain climate, waterproof jacket, backpack with water for the duration of the excursion, hat, sunglasses, a small snack such as dried fruit, any sunscreen.

🫰COST: €25 for the guided excursion and breakfast, €15 for children under 15 and season ticket holders.

Including tastings of aged alpine cheeses.
