Saturday, August 28, 2021 from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm
Guided historical-naturalistic walk through the places of the Great War
META: Spitz Verle – Alpe Cimbra
A different route than usual, on forest tracks open for the Tempesta Vaia and little-frequented paths, takes us almost to two thousand meters of altitude on the top that dominates not only the Vezzena plain, but also the Alpe Cimbra, the Asiago Plateau and the Alta Valsugana. For this reason the summit of this mountain was excavated and fortified to defend the Austira from a possible invasion of the Kingdom of Italy, which punctually happened in the summer of 1915. In these woods rich in history we will spend a pleasant day among beautiful landscapes along the ancient Tyrolean border. The excursion includes a picnic lunch, which we will consume in a natural terrace above the Lakes of Levico and Caldonazzo.
Reservations are required.
Mandatory personal equipment of mask and disinfectant gel.
DIFFICULTY: we assign a difficulty 4 on a scale from 1 (very easy) to 5 (challenging)
The route develops between mountain paths and dirt roads crossing the upper area of the Plateau of the Seven Municipalities. The difference in height uphill is less than 600 m, there are no particularly exposed sections except for a panoramic point at the Fort.
TO TAKE WITH YOU: necessary mountain boots, layered clothing suitable for the mountain climate, waterproof jacket, water for the duration of the excursion (at least 1.5 liters), possibly a small snack such as dried fruit, sunscreen hat.
COST: € 15, € 5 for children under 15 years
MEETING PLACE: 9.30 am Malga Zochi
