Mostra torbiere di Marcesina al museo naturalistico di AsiagoIn Asiago, at the Didactic Naturalistic Museum "Patrizio Rgonii",from 15 June to 07 November 2021 there will be the temporary exhibition entitled"The Peat bogs of Marcesina, islands of biodiversity",a popularphotographic exhibition that speaks of the Palù di Marcesina, unique and rare environments present on the Plateau of the 7 Municipalities.

The exhibition is part of the Museum's summer programming, which includes, in addition to the openings, also excursions for everyone, workshops for children, experiences in nature for the whole family and the opportunity to discover the digital novelties of the Museum.

The exhibition hosted by the Naturalistic Museum was born from the desire to enhance and make known these very particular and unique habitats, included within the Natura 2000 Network in the ZSC site "Plateau of the 7 Municipalities", but still today little disclosed and little taken into account for their conservation.

The exhibition reveals curiosities about the ecological typology of these biotopes, linked to the climatic evolution from the last glaciations to the present day, characterizing the alpine mountain peat bogs as residual edges of arctic nature.

The specific faunal and especially floristicpresences are illustrated, with highly specialized specimens such as some carnivorous plants. To this end, the material of the exhibition has been enriched by the presence of unpublished documents from the herbarium of G. Montini, coming from the Civic Museums of Bassano del Grappa Natural Sciences Section and from digitized documents of the Botanical Garden of Padua and the Archaeological Naturalistic Museum of Vicenza, as well as important prehistoric finds collected on site by native scholars.

The enormous importance that these habitats on Alpine soil have for their conservation, protection and enhancement is the message that we want to convey, in a mixed path between photographs and panels to also tell of their irreversible destiny linked to climate change and conditioned by the human attitude not always favorable towards these environments too often considered of little use.

During the summer the museum organizes, among the various activities scheduled, the following events that are linked to the theme of the exhibition:

WEDNESDAY '07 and 21 July, 04 and 18 August and 01 September Excursion for the whole family with picnic or lunch in the hut. "Pic-Trek-Nic, Mondo Marcesina" 9.30- 16.00.
