The battle of Mount Ortigara ' between past and present-View of the historical archives, Cesuna Dal Molin-Altopiano di Asiago
The exhibition ofhistorical archives Dal Molin, hosted from 13 April to end of October 2013 to Cesuna (VI), is actually an interesting documentary study on the history of black feathers ranging from the time of their establishment as special troops, in 1872, to epic undertakings in battle of Ortigara which sanctioned definitively the myth and legend.
The photographic path begins by explaining the reasons and the context for which the Alpini, continues with rare and significant pictures of early twentieth century exercises to preside over the new borders and shows the evolution in specialized mountain troops. Not lacking in this very interesting sections review how the unique baptism of fire place curiously in Africa during the campaigns of Eritrea and Libya, or the section where it shows the ' evolution of uniforms; from the old to the new Constitution, characterised by grey.
It continues by explaining the ' use of the Alpine passes in the great war, in enterprises in Slovenia, in the areas of Mt. Rombon and m. Black whose extraordinary conquest occurred thanks to a direct attack to the peak climbing inaccessible cliffs, brought them fame and admiration in public '.
Before arriving at the documentary exhibition on the battle of Ortigara, the exhibition offers the visit to educational entrenchment, a realistic reconstruction of a piece of front line walkway that allows visitors to enter into the atmosphere of that war; a dark passage leads to the position of shields, observation point on enemy lines, with slits and trench shields.
Also, will be present to witness life in trench warfare, typical objects as a field telephone, a rack with about 91 model rifles, gas masks and some Chargers alongside the slits.
Continuing on the tour then goes to the actual exposure of the battle of Ortigara illustrated by the extraordinary period of reviewArchive Dal Molin which, with nearly 200 images, documenting every aspect.
In support of that location, in the heart of the exhibition, you can see a model of the terrain of battle. In this way it is possible to observe an area of struggle both with the image, and the image of that which remains nowadays finding some its exact location in this model.
To integrate the topics covered in the exhibition are presented documentaries and DVDs, continuous screened in a special room designed for the projection and viewing of audiovisuals. Concludes the exhibition of the exhibition, in bilingualproposal, supported by an information sheet and apossible driving expert, a wide exhibition of publications on this battle and war-related texts that have invested the whole Altopiano dei Sette Comuni.
The exhibition will be open every day, except Monday, from 15.00 to 18.30. In July and August from 10.00 to 12.00 and from 15.00 to 18.30.
The ticket price of admission is $ 3.00. The ' entrance will be free for school groups, protected categories, children up to 18 years.
