The dark night to Asiago, Saturday August 25, 2012
Saturday, August 25, 2012 there will be one of the most important events for Asiago and the 'Plateau of the seven Municipalities: the dark night.
As per tradition, the lights of the city historical centre, at 21.00 hours will be turned off and the city will be illuminated only by torches and candles create a 'enchanted and evocative atmosphere.
The evening's programme will be as follows:
Hours 21.00 central lights and ignition of candles scattered along the sidewalks.
Hours 21.00 Prisons Museum: opening night of the exhibition "the masterpieces of art '", entrance fee.
Hours 21.00 Duomo Square: public gardens and the main streets of downtown will define the stage area of the theater of Night. The streets of downtown performance artists of the night with the Light Parade.
Hours 21.00 Duomo Square: "astronomy Night", curated by Elvira de Poli (Padua Planetarium), John Noble (Planetario di Padova), music with Mestrino Dixieland Jazz Band; events in collaboration with Porsche Italy.
Hours 21.00 Piazzetta Monte Zebio: "legends of our mountains" reading fairy tales with projection d ' images by Professor Paula Martell.
Hours 21.30 Palazzo del Turismo Millepini: in case of clear skies, direct connection with theAstronomic Observatory of Cima Ekar observing night to follow a telescope to Copernicus. Astronomers and engineers will guide the audience with explanations and clarifications on the projected images live curated by INAF Osservatorio Astronomico di Padova, seat of Asiago and Department of Astronomy University of Padua. In case of bad weather will be screened archive footage narrated by astronomers.
