ANDY WARHOL
His artistic activity has many works, which produced in series with the help ofscreen printing plant. His most famous works have become icons: Marilyn Monroe, Mao Tse-Tung, Che Guevara and many others. The repetition was his successful method: on large canvases reproduced many times the same image altering colors (mostly lively and strong). Taking advertising images of major trademarks (famous his bottles of Coca Cola) or impact images like traffic accidents or electric chairs, could empty of any meaning images that represented just with the repetition of the same image on a large scale.
His art, which brought the shelves of a supermarket within a museum or an art exhibition, was a not too veiled provocation: according to one of the greatest exponents of Pop Art the art had to be "consumed" like any other commercial product.
He often repeated that the mass products represent the social democracy and as such should be recognized: even the poorest can drink the same Coca Cola drinking Jimmy Carter or Liz Taylor.
