Saturday, November 1 at 20.45 hours at the Teatro Millepini of Asiago, then projected the documentary film the plateau des merveilles.

Sponsored by the town of Asiago, the event is a real tribute to Mario Rigoni Stern to mark the 93rd anniversary of his birth.

Born many years ago by writer's friendship with photographer Robert Costa, the plateau of wonders was first a beautiful book and today has become a documentary film by Director passionate about Luca Benetti and Fabio Coluccelli.

Through the voice of a great performer which Elda Olivieri, the documentary presents a sequence of pictures and videos on the spectacle of life that throbs more secluded corners and secrets ofthe seven Municipalities Plateau, from the heart of the Woods, the rocks and snows higher quotas. An extraordinary journey to the discovery of the mountain through the eyes of a great photographer and words of a memorable storyteller.

Mario Rigoni Stern

Mario Rigoni Stern (Asiago 1921-2008), proved in 1953 with the Sergeant in the snow, one of the most famous books of the postwar period. Is one of the most significant writers of Italian 900 .
The link between memory and nature have always been the essence of his work, in which gave voice to the things, people and stories of his homeland.

Roberto Costa of every lawn, each forest, every nook and cranny ofthe plateau knows the secrets, because there was at night and by day, with the Sun and rain. There he took thousands of photos. Long waits for seizing the moment, themoment, the right light. Always alone. Spying with the body on his back in the snow, camouflaged among the shrubs. Listening to himself and nature. For hours, for days, for years.

Roberto of animals and birds of all species, you know every move. Where they meet, where they eat, where they grow. Every shot is admiration for them. Forty years of photos. Tells the plateau.
