Thursday, 7 August 2014 at theAuditorium of Gallio, the Asiago plateau, at 20.30 hours will stage the play at the May 24 songs and stories of the great war of Glossa Theatre Company.

The 24 magio from Asiago to Gallio.. is the first verse of a song, probably of storytellers recorded in Val di Posina (municipality of Arsiero in Provincia di Vicenza) from an old former millworker, the first witness to a long series of stories we collect some twenty years ago from eyewitnesses of World War I, including some women who remembered the war as happened a few days earlier.

These songs and these stories made by survivors have made the first world war, for all these people was simply the WAR, for us, which we studied only in the history books, a world of personal small events each of which carries within itself the strength of direct testimony.

For this show we dredged up some of these stories in music and some short stories, adding songs and copyright notice, enter now to become part of the musical history of the great war and stories taken from the literature that could complete a framework which, inevitably, was incomplete, but rich in emotions and centered first on original materials of Veneto and Trentino or surrounding areas. So in the eyes of the viewer appearing in the life of the trenches, the plight of refugees driven from their homes by the war that advances, the great dramas that are reflected in the lives of individuals and families within a framework that although will never give the image of that frightening moment that was the great war, it returns definitely atmospheres and emotions.

GLOSSA THEATRE

TheGlossa Theatre cultural association was founded in November of ' 96 as normal continuation and development of a previous activity linked to the Theatre and Culture more generally. Soul and founder of the Association is the actor, Director and songwriter Pino Costalunga, for years engaged not only in the creation of theatrical and musical performances as actor, Director or author with different Companies Venete and not, as well as animator of numerous training Workshops for young people and teachers, as well as curator and creator of many theatre or theatre events connected to it.

PINO COSTALUNGA

Vicentino, actor, Director, author and theatre trainer. For years the theatre practice and holds workshops in Italy and abroad. He studied acting, MIME, tap-dance etc. Working in the theatre as an amateur actor, then begins to exercise the profession, has worked and collaborated with several companies, and the Veneto (including: TAG Teatro of Venice, Dovecot, Milanese Theatre Company, Gran Teatro delle Calabrie, Studio Three of Perugia, Cagliari Actores Alidos etc.) and was directed by directors, including: Chris Chaplin, Orazio Costa Giovangigli, Pine Manzari, Georg Bintrup, Paolo Trevisi, Giorgio Marini etc.
