Theatre performance "As whitelighters" ' retreat in Russia 43, Enego-Asiago plateau August 16, 2015
The tragic Alpine retreat in Russia of ' 43: sad topic of Italian history and that even today we find it hard to swallow.
Sunday 16 August 2015 at 21.00 at the Palace of culture of Enego - Asiago plateau -is staged the play "As Whitelighters" by Emiliano Arcaro and Henry Groves.
The play tells the story of Italian soldiers sent by Mussolini to join the German divisions as the offensive support on the front of the Caucasus: in December 1942, the Italians were repulsed on the Don by the Red Army, tucking in terrible climatic conditions: some 200,000 soldiers sent in Russia, more than half remained in the field disappearing in the freezing steppe or fell prisoner and was transported in Soviet concentration camps.
Let's walk through the audience most salient moments of the event from a historical point of view thanks to narratives from the most authoritative literature and unpublished songs and published best known repertoire; but especially from the human point of view thanks to video interview made with a veteran survivor retreat that makes it even more believable, the events recounted.
