DESTINATION: Hermitage of San Bovo - on the slopes of the Asiago Plateau and the Seven Municipalities (VI)
From the banks of the river Brenta we will climb the southern slopes of the plateau in a mixed forest rich in chestnut trees and with a lush undergrowth. We will follow ancient roads that have connected the mountain people with the foothills for centuries and that have seen goods of all kinds pass, not least smuggled tobacco. Once halfway up the coast a gentle forest road will take us to the Hermitage of San Bovo accompanied by a splendid view of the plain. From this enchanted corner we will descend to skirt the riverside before returning to the starting point.
The scent of the forest, the centuries-old history and the flow of water will be the ingredients that will make this day special!
Reservations are required.
Mandatory personal equipment of mask and disinfectant gel.
DIFFICULTY: we assign a difficulty 3 on a scale from 1 (very easy) to 5 (challenging)
The route is a ring and does not present particular technical difficulties. It develops between mountain paths and dirt roads. The difference in height uphill is less than 300 m, there are no exposed sections.
TO BRING WITH YOU: mountain boots, layered clothing suitable for the mountain climate, waterproof jacket, water for the duration of the excursion (at least 1 liter), possibly a small snack such as dried fruit, sunscreen, sunglasses and hat.
