On Thursday 23 July 2026, the Pro Loco Cesuna invites you to participate in the guided excursion "Among the works of Vaia the history of Monte Lemerle", an itinerary that combines nature, art and historical memory along the Path of Remembrance - The Front of Vaia.
The meeting is scheduled at 9:00 am at the Palaciclamino di Cesuna, starting at 9:30 am.
The route develops in an area that contains two important pages in the history of the Plateau. On the one hand, the memory of the Great War, with Monte Lemerle among the Italian defensive strongholds during the Strafexpedition of 1916; on the other hand, the Vaia Storm of 2018, which felled thousands of trees, profoundly changing the face of these forests.
From this double memory was born Il Fronte di Vaia, a thematic and historical loop itinerary that collects six points of interest and reflection, enriched by symbolic works made with the wood of trees felled by the storm.
Sculptures, seats and installations accompany the journey, transforming the wounded wood into a story, memory and an opportunity for rebirth.
The excursion will thus allow you to cross a place where the traces of war and those of nature dialogue with each other, offering participants an intense look at the link between the environment, history and community.
