Excursion or Snowshoeing in case of sufficient snow, on Mount Longara / Ongara. The mountain is located just north of the town of Gallium, so it is convenient and quick to reach. For the scenic and naturalistic beauty it has nothing to envy to the main peaks of the northern chain of the Plateau.

From the top of Mount Longara at over 1600 m above sea level, you have a splendid view of the central highland basin where most of the villages are located. Splendid glance also on the northern chain, from Ortigara to Cima XII and the Portule, ranging up to the Alpine chain, with the "Brenta Group" on display. Everything will be made even more evocative and magical by the setting of the sun and the "warm" light of the sunset, which will leave room for the sparkle of the first stars and planets and the illumination of the countries, which light up like many small cribs.

During the easy itinerary we will travel along the entire ridge of the mountain, passing through pastures and huts that during the summer period of the pasture, are populated by grazing animals. We will also reach the monument dedicated to John Paul II who from here blessed the lands of the Plateau.

The terrain may be bumpy or lack signals. The maximum difference in height remains within 400 meters.

MEDIUM / CHALLENGING: The itinerary definitely exceeds three hours, it is complex for the difference in height that can reach 700 meters or for the length of the walk up to 6 hours, it takes place on a path with some climb or descent challenging but surmountable without the support of mountaineering equipment. The terrain may be bumpy or lack signals.

CHALLENGING: These are itineraries that require long experience, training and physical strength on the part of those who travel them. it is necessary to know how to move with skill even in dangerous terrain: screes, steep slopes or steep stretches, dense scrub, high and without references, rock passages, absence of springs.
