Transhumance of herds of Malga Spill in the Centre of gallium, on the Asiago plateau, Sunday October 9, 2016
ATTENTION!!! THE TRANSHUMANCE OF MALGA SPILL (GALLIUM) IT'S BEEN CANCELED! :-(
This morning in fact arrived at City Hall the official notice prohibiting any transhumance, though made within the same municipality, to avoid possible infection and spread of disease "bluetongue" (blue tongue).
The Highland cows are all healthy, so it is a decision made solely to protect livestock from possible contagion.
For those who do not know remember that Bluetongue, does not affect humans and is not transmissible through meat and milk.
Time of transhumance in Highland!
Sunday, October 9, will be the turn of herds of Malga Spill, which will pass through the Centre of Gallium at 14.30 hours.
The transhumance is a folk tradition deeply felt, which provides for the return of the cows in their shelters in plain, after a summer spent to graze on the mountains ofAsiago plateau.
Every year, many Advantag and onlookers gather to celebrate and give a final "Goodbye" to cows at the start, keeping the tradition alive.
