EXCURSION DEVELOPMENT:
Trekking & Astronomy: in collaboration with the Asiago Astrophysical Observatory, Guide Altopiano offers an astronomical excursion that will take us to visit the astronomy headquarters of Asiago-Pennar. After a walk around Asiago, where our guides will illustrate the history and naturalistic aspects of the area, often talking about topics related to astronomy, we will visit, guided by the astronomers who work on site, the Astrophysical Observatory: here, after an educational lesson, we will stop inside the large dome that houses the Galileo telescope with a diameter of 122cm, at the time the largest telescope in Europe.

READING OF THE DEGREE OF DIFFICULTY

EASY: The itinerary takes place on forest roads, dirt roads or easy mule tracks always well indicated and without orientation problems in cases of fog or bad weather. The differences in height are contained within 250-300 meters and the length of the itinerary is within three hours. These are somewhat long walks that require a sports hiking shoe, not necessarily the pedula or the boot.

EASY/ MEDIUM: The itinerary takes place on forest roads, dirt roads or easy mule tracks always well indicated. The differences in height are contained within 250-400 meters and the length of the itinerary is within 3 – 5 HOURS. These are somewhat long walks that require a sports hiking shoe or boot. MEDIUM: The itinerary definitely exceeds three hours, it is more complex, it takes place on a path with some challenging climbs or descents but can be overcome without the support of mountaineering equipment. The terrain may be bumpy or lack signals. The maximum difference in height remains within 400 meters.

MEDIUM / CHALLENGING: The itinerary definitely exceeds three hours, it is complex for the difference in height that can reach 700 meters or for the length of the walk up to 6 hours, it takes place on a path with some climb or descent challenging but surmountable without the support of mountaineering equipment. The terrain may be bumpy or lack signals.

CHALLENGING: These are itineraries that require long experience, training and physical strength on the part of those who travel them. It is necessary to know how to move with skill even in dangerous terrain: screes, steep slopes or steep stretches, dense scrub, high and without references, rock passages, absence of springs. The difficulty of the terrain and the distance from the support points require total autonomy. Where indicated there may be the need to bring with you bivouac material such as the tent, bivouac bag, stove, food, requires training, energy and strong motivation.
