SHELTER D
Surrounded by unspoilt nature at 1,240 meters altitude on the plain of Marcesina, Shelter D is a Paleolithic archaeological site of great significance for the history of Trentino. Research conducted for twenty years after the MUSE-Science Museum in Trento, brought to light one of the most fascinating prehistoric hunters camps of the end times. Excavations have indeed returned the richest set of image stones ever found in European prehistoric sites and the remains of a hut where our prehistoric ancestors lived, hunted and butchering the meat around 13,000 years ago .
In summer the Shelter D opens to visitors with a varied programme of activities to live an adventure in the nature and prehistory. Guided tours, imitative archaeology laboratories accompany and demonstration activities in a unique experience to discover life, art and spirituality of our ancestors
