View "the plateau's Forehead-Don Giovanni Rossi Chaplain of the great war" in Sasso di Asiago

From Sunday 17 July to Sunday September 11, 2016, at the Museum battle of the three mountains in the locality of Sasso di Asiago, will be an exhibition "inltopianesi at the front and Don Giovanni Rossi Chaplain of the great war".

The exhibition, created by the municipality of Asiago in collaboration with the Museum Battle of three mountains, the S.s. Sasso and with the municipality of Ponte San Nicolò (PD), focuses on the figure of Don Giovanni Rossi, Chaplain of the great war.

Don Giovanni Rossi (1886-1967), priest of the fraction Sasso di Asiago, the outbreak of War he was drafted into healthcare and later became chaplain of the 1° Regiment Granatieri di Sardegna, a position he held until October 31, 1917 when he was taken prisoner during the retreat from Caporetto.

With the grenadiers, he loved more than his family, shared hardships and risks before on theAsiago plateau and on the karst front where he was awarded the Silver Medal of military valor.
After the war, Don Rossi was pastor at Roncajette locality in the municipality of Padua Ponte San Nicolò.

The exhibition dedicated to this military chaplain of the plateau becomes the view of a man, that of his native land and that of the people with whom he shared the first scary drama in the history of the ' 900.

Theinauguration of the exhibition will be held Saturday, July 16, at 11.00.
