From 20 August to 7 September the University of Padua continues research and opens the doors of archaeological excavation on the Bostel of Rotzo for enthusiasts and the curious.
On theAsiago plateau, in the ancient village of Bostel, excavations, which began in 1993, have made it possible to locate the homes built by the villagers in the time of its maximum splendour, in the 5th and 2nd centuries BC.
This year will continue the investigations, with great innovations and technological aid: analysis of satellite images, the reliefs with drone and geo-physical exploration will identify new research areas and to document the results of the excavation.
During the excavation, from 20 August to 7 September, the archaeologists will guide visitors to the discovery of the ancient village, telling them how the ancients lived and worked and accompanying them on the areas of excavation would otherwise not visible during the rest of the year.
The excavation a score of young students of the University of Padua, which funds research on Bostel as innovative project of students.
THE PRESS PROJECT
The project, strongly backed by Professor Armando De Guio and presented by graduate student Luigi Magnini in collaboration with Cinizia Baidu and Laura Burigana, was called STEMPA CASE, short for excavation, remote sensing, study materials and landscape of the Asiago plateau and homage to the Witch of the Cimbric folklore.
History, culture, landscape and technology are the most important elements of the project PRESS, whose team is involved not only in research but also in disclosure which also happens through social.
