The mule track of perching overhanging the Valdastico, the galleries and the legendary Salto del Granatiere,make this route one of the most evocative among our mountains. In May 1916 with the start of the Spring Offensive the Italians are forced to retreat until they reach the edge of the Plateau. Here the strenuous resistance of the Grenadiers of Sardinia slowed down the advance of the enemy towards the plain. Subsequently the entire mountain was fortified by building tunnels and passages overlooking the valley below that give us breathtaking views today.
The work and sacrifice of the soldiers, remains impressed between these ledges that will give you a mountain of emotions.

DIFFICULTY: we assign a difficulty 3 on a scale from 1 (very easy) to 5 (challenging).

The route does not present particular technical difficulties, it is characterized by the presence of mountain paths, mule tracks, tunnels and some stretches of asphalt road, rarely busy. The mule track is located overlooking the Val d'Astico, the route is safe from the presence of handrails, but it is still exposed. The difference in height uphill is less than 350m.

TO TAKE WITH YOU: mountain boots, layered clothing suitable for the mountain climate, waterproof jacket, water for the duration of the trip (at least 1 liter), a small snack such as dried fruit, front pile.
