World Cup 2013/14 Nordic skiing sprint and team sprint in Asiago on December 21 and 22

Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 December at the new track Millepini Asiago 's will hold a round of the World Cup ski season 2013-2014 organized by FIS.

Friday, Dec. 20 , from 18.00 hours at Piazza Carli in Asiago, held the ceremony of delivery of pectorals to athletes of the Italian team and the top three in the standings of the World Cup "Sprint".

The new Runway Millepini, traced by Demetrius Report, was created to ensure tourists eager to make skiing a runway at 1350 meters, close to the city center and well lit at night.
The structure also features a snow-making system that uses rainwater collected from roofs of the stadium.

Recently, have also been approved the 1600 metre sprint tracks (masculine) and 1400 metres (female), which will be the stars of the World Cup Nordic ski 2013/14.

The races are sprint and team sprint in classical technique.

Each race will score the first 30 classified (one hundred points to 1, a point to 30º). After the season, the winners of the World Cup, one male and the other female, will be whoever has accumulated the highest number of total points.

The winner will receive a trophy shaped like a crystal ball, designed to symbolize the world. The same trophy is awarded to the winners of the other World Cup competitions organised by the FIS. Hence the origin of crystal ball as a synonym for the World Cup.

For sprinttype, the winner will be the one who has accumulated the highest score in the same specialty. The trophy of Sprint World Cup will have the same appearance as the World Cup cross-country skiing but with smaller dimensions.
