World Masters of Nordic skiing, Asiago, from 14 to February 22, 2013

At Asiago, at the slopes of the Golf Arena, will be held at the Masters World Cup 2013 of Nordic skiing; the ' event will begin on Thursday, 14 February and will continue until Friday, February 22, 2013.

It is a competitive event worldwide dedicated to the athletes of different categories over 30 of Nordic skiing, including many past champions and former national, representing more than 25 countries.

The idea of bring on the snow Altopianesi the Masters World stems from the Alpine Sport team, Asiago andUnione Sportiva Asiago Sci, idea that has found the support of several sponsors.

The path to ' assigning this event started in 2009 in Canada with the submission of candidacy and has continued in Germany in the fall of 2010, where the representatives of 27 countries affiliated to Wma (Word Master Association) have spoken in favour of the plateau, in a thrilling head-to-head with Tyrolean town of St. Ulrich am Pillersee (Austria).

L ' formalization was introduced in January 2011, in Venice, directly by the President of the Veneto region Luca Zaia; by this time, the municipality and the Organizing Committee have been set in motion to develop the program of this event, which may bring back Asiago Queen Nordic skiing.

The goal is to allow strong, indelible and in all participants a beautiful reminder of our territory, our people and this wonderful cross-country skiing paradise which is thePlateau of 7 Municipalities.

The purpose was also presented a plan for a permanent Stadium to fund Golf Asiago Arena, in a structure always Meltar: ready-to-use that would complement a ' already designated area to host national and international events.

Alessandro Rigoni, Chairman of the local organizing Committee, considers this event a very important occasion, not only from the sporting point of view, but also, and above all, promotional tourism.

In fact, host a similar event means specifically accommodate a large stream of visitors from all over the world; means, therefore, to know the extraordinary of our tourist offer to a wide audience and quite new.

There are about 2000 athletes over 30 cross-country who invade Asiago for ben 10 days in February 2013 and that, on the slopes of the Golf Arena, are competing for the top positions in the various races.

To Asiago is already working every day to ensure the best possible hospitality and to prepare athletes to better technical facilities required by the sporting event.

C ' is a strong support of the Administration and of the sponsors, who have caught the beginning of extraordinary visibility for our region and for their respective companies; This event, from the great potential, it can be an instrument of revival throughout the ' Asiago plateau.

The Mayor Andrea Gios explained: "Asiago will host athletes and their entourage for 10 days, approximately 2000 people, but aims to ensure that this great event serve as a driving force for tourists interested in cross country skiing and not only. The new development of the plateau is based on environmental attractions. "

In the plateau territory Nordic skiing can count on 500 kilometres of pistes, the best route across the Alps.
