Asiago Foliage: a must

The fall season is an invitation to discover the foliage, a spectacle of nature that moves you to the beauty of colors, lights and scents.

Asiago is recognized as one of the best places to see this phenomenon and celebrates it with a host of unmissable culminating with Saturday 20 and Sunday "Asiago Foliage", 21 October.

In autumn Asiago and the entire plateau-a veritable botanical mosaic -become the picture of an Impressionist painter, between brush strokes of yellow and Orange: is one of the most beautiful places of Italy to catch the foliage, in particular so thanks to the livery of beeches, maples and larches, made even more low rays of Golden Sun, which contrasts nicely with the pine forests. As in the theatre, before the leave-winter, when nature rests-one attends the grand finale, a greeting full of colors, smells, emotions.

It is the perfect time to plan a "Foliage Tour". Nature lovers, young and old, but also photographers and artists, can immerse themselves in the colours of the Woods, public parks, gardens and avenues of Asiago to take photos, shoot video, paint glimpses. Rural landscapes of the contrade, between rows and solitary trees, expanses of mixed forests that line the Valley, up to the larch forests of the highest mountains in the North-going on foot, by bicycle or horse -welcome them in their spectacular atmosphere.

The weekend of 20 and 21 October is the culmination of the season with 'Asiago Foliage". For two days the town in the heart of the plateau will be filled with a crackling atmosphere: squares and streets are "dressed" to the nines, and businesses offer themed decorations, recipes, household items and products made with pumpkins, chestnuts, mushrooms. And then many initiatives such as guided walks by botanists, creative workshops, sensory and scientific, the treewatching and the bathing forest, musical and artistic events and craft markets. All accompanied, to the delight of gourmands, from authentic foods of the mountain.

Back then the expected photo contest open to all enthusiasts, professionals and amateurs, photography: will be selected and awarded the best images dedicated to the foliage of the Asiago plateau, a mosaic of colors, lights, atmosphere. The invitation is to town of Asiago to play creatively with brightness, contrast, exposure times, to return a personal and original point of view on the world's oldest show, nature.

On the evening of Saturday 20 Asiago becomes even more attractive and bright with a show to be missed in piazza Carli: Videomapping & Laser and Flames Show on the façade of the Town Hall, with filmmaking Sparks, pyrotechnics and blades of fire.

To get into the magic atmosphere of autumn, waiting for the two-day "Asiago Foliage", in the previous two Sundays, October 7 and 14, there will be numerous walks of flavours and colours with experienced guides, while Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 September there is the appointment with "Herbest", autumnal herbs Festival that Slowfood Plateau offers to all fans of natural.
The plateau is custodian of a plant biodiversity more than 1,200 species: a "guten Brau", a good wife, knew distinguish and collect more than 150 different species for winter survival.
