With the simulation of a bombing on trench rebuilt the Dosso di Sopra, si son ended a few nights ago the shooting of the film by Ermanno Olmi on World War I, shot in Plateau among the Larches, Val Gardens and Zebio.

It was a real battle, beyond what the film is about, what the Director and his staff have had to fight against the weather, at the beginning because the snow was taking longer to arrive and then because it was too much and it snowed often. A battle which finally men are due to surrender to nature, adapting and from that that it was possible to perceive, making adaptations to the history, or otherwise altering some scenes and often changing in the race lineup.

Perhaps because of the uncertain and unpredictable conditions of the time, with various slips that are achieved, that at the beginning seemed to be light and fun experience for the Group of extras and actors with small pieces chosen from among the "aspiring actors" locations, eventually turned out to be pretty busy instead, if nothing else because they never know with certainty when it came the call to be present at the time of filming and for many schedule changes at the last minute.

Everything was retained as far as possible the total secrecy, although those who have been engaged in various ways during the making of the film, some funny anecdote or trivia with friends if they are left out.

Most of them agree in saying that, apart from what has been a sort of general disorganization with the only mitigating circumstance that the cause be given by unpredictable weather component, it was apositive experience, which has made it possible to discover firsthand the world of cinema, surprise transformations that makeup can dostrategies that are developed for the film to make fiction as much as possible similar to reality.

Herman, the master, has charmed everyone with his work, his constant presence well into the night, wrapped up from head to toe to protect themselves from the cold, but always there, in his place, active, precise and sure in its Director with exceptional ability. It was not easy for anyone needing to work from late afternoon until well after midnight, as has often happened in places where I had feet of snow which covered the scenes made with great commitment and expertise from local craftsmen under the direction of film professionals.

Great was the effort of shoveling snow to free the shooting sites, and then turn, perhaps in March, while rolling up the legs to the knees in a white blanket. Move aboard snowmobiles, upload attachments on the snowcat, shelter from the cold ... in the end, among insiders, there was who nicely began making the countdown of hours in which he said goodbye to snow, hoping for a future job in the heat ... even in the desert!

But perhaps having to work under difficult conditions, was cause for further Union between the troupe and the locals, among all those who so much, or little, were involved in this film project, which will be officially unveiled at a Press Conference scheduled on March 14 to Asiago.

On that occasion will be revealed the final title of the Elms, produced by Cinema Undici e Ipotesi Cinema with RAI Cinema, which probably will be changed from that previously announced "15-18, Italy at war".
