The Asiago plateau is preparing to host the President Sergio Mattarella for celebrations of the May 24, 2016 to commemorate the entrance of Italy in the great war

Tuesday, May 24, 2016, the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella will be visiting on theAsiago plateau on the occasion of the anniversary ofentry of Italy into World War I.
The visit of President Mattarella to Asiago is an event of great importance, which will seal in the authoritative way the many events planned to celebrate the centenary of the great war and, above all, will pay tribute to the plateau, one of the areas most affected by the devastation of the first world war.
In addition to attend the official ceremony in Piazza Carli, the head of State will visit the Shrine, where there will be a memorial service, and the area ofOrtigara, one of the most iconic symbols of the atrocities of the first world war. This is the first time for a President of the Republic, a noble gesture and of high moral value, in recognition of the great sacrifice of the many soldiers who sacrificed themselves for their country just on this mountain.
The official ceremony open to the public will take place at 11.30 a.m. in Piazza Carli.
Also you will be able to attend the ceremony of deposition of the laurel wreath to be held at the War Memorial and the next Council extraordinary Asiago city through the big screen positioned in Piazza Giovanni Carli.
At 11.15 the ceremony will be broadcast live on Rai 1.
