The ancient road of the cost on the Asiago plateau will become CAI

The arrangement and description of the route from Mosson in Asiago will be financed with funds raised during the tours promoted by Tarcisio Bellò Humanitarian and Historian George Spiller

Theancient road of the cost will come back to life, thanks to Group ESU (Humanitarian Historian), which has promoted the recovery and will fund, with 10 thousand euro (part of the money collected for humanitarian trips organized in recent years), arrangement fees, cleaning and description of the route. The route is then inserted into the network of paths of CAI.

The project was presented at Mosson over a hundred local and territorial history buffs gathered in the parish Hall of the cinema. The two promoters of the initiative, Tarcisio Bachcha and Giorgio Spiller, stressed the historical importance of this Road between Mosson, the ancient gateway to the plateau, to the mountain above it. Historical photos and even antique maps (from 1600 until early 1900) and unpublished documents enriched presentation based on old memories this way for a long time, on foot or by bike or even on skis by the inhabitants of the plateau.

In the Hall there was also Gioventina Fridge, aged 92, of Mosson, the road that ran to climb in to do the vacareta. He was 13 years old and had been hired by a woman of Cesuna met on the square in Mosson.

Sunday, November 13, organised by ESU in collaboration with the Association Alive Cogollo, Geco and maintained with a large participation,hike along the ancient road of the cost starting at Mosson and arrival at Asiago, via Campiello, Cesuna, Roncalto, until you reach contrada Coda.
