Tuesday, August 8, 2023, we invite you to participate in a special guided excursion, organized by the Pro Loco of Camporovere, dedicated to commemorate the tragic day of August 8, 1944, when the small town of the Asiago plateau was set on fire by German soldiers in retaliation for the liberation of some partisans.

That day, as many as 74 houses in Camporovere were set on fire. The destruction was stopped only thanks to the courage and determination of the local parish priest, who managed to convince the Germans to cease their terrible destructive act.

The meeting is scheduled for 9:30 am at the parking lot of the cemetery of Camporovere, from which the "walk of memory" will begin, led by the experts of Asiago Guide, who will lead you through the places and events of that terrible day, recalling the stories of courage and resistance, along the paths of the partisans who still bear the names that gave the Cimbrian settlers centuries and centuries ago.

It is therefore not only an excursion, but also an opportunity for reflection and remembrance.

MEETING POINT: 9.30 am at the parking lots of the Larici Village in Camporovere - We start on foot from the meeting point.

DIFFICULTY: we assign a difficulty 3 on a scale from 1 (very easy) to 5 (challenging).
The route is a ring and does not present particular technical difficulties. It develops between mountain paths and dirt roads. The difference in height uphill is less than 300 m, there are no exposed sections. 
Please note that not all telephone companies have reception at the meeting point. 

TO BRING WITH YOU: mountain boots, layered clothing suitable for the mountain climate, waterproof jacket, water for the duration of the excursion (at least 1 liter), a small snack such as dried fruit, hat, any sunscreen.
