On Monday, December 25, 2023, Christmas Day in Mezzaselva will be illuminated by a special event: a guided candlelight hike entitled "Walking with Christmas Lights in Mezzaselva".
This initiative, promoted by the Pro Loco of Mezzaselva in collaboration with Asiago Guide, will be a unique and evocative experience, perfect to end the Christmas day in style.
Participants will have the opportunity to cross the ancient and characteristic districts of Mezzaselva and its woods, illuminated by the soft light of lanterns, which, in addition to guiding the path, will create an intimate and welcoming atmosphere, warming the heart and enveloping the senses in an aura of wonder.
Step by step, the guides will unveil the ancient Cimbrian traditions of the "Bainachten", or "Blessed Nights", from the burning of the large log that brings prosperity and well-being, to the sharing of bread.
The hike "Walking with Christmas Lights in Mezzaselva" is not only an outdoor activity, but also a cultural and spiritual journey. It's a chance to immerse yourself in local traditions, connect with nature, and reflect on the true meaning of Christmas.
INFORMATION
MEETING POINT: 5.30 p.m. in front of the PRO LOCO MEZZASELVA – Piazza Cimbri, 21, 36010 Mezzaselva VI.
Depending on the presence of ice/snow, you can start on foot directly from the meeting point, or you may need to travel by car for a few minutes, with your own vehicle, to reach the starting point. In any case, precise information will be communicated to those booked the day before the event.
DIFFICULTY: we assign a difficulty of 2 on a scale from 1 (very easy) to 5 (challenging).
The route is a loop and does not present any particular technical difficulties. It develops between mountain paths and dirt roads. The difference in height is less than 220 m, there are no exposed sections.
WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU: mountain boots, layered clothing suitable for the mountain climate, waterproof jacket, hat, gloves, water or hot tea for the duration of the excursion, a small snack such as dried fruit.
COST: €10 per person for the guided candlelight excursion.
