Hoga Zait (which in the Cimbrian language means "beautiful time" or "high time", therefore party time ) is the traditional Festival of Cimbrian Culture, organized by the Municipality of Roana in collaboration with the various Pro loco and local associations, and sponsored by the Veneto Region.
This extraordinary festival has become over the years an unmissable event in the summer calendar of the Altopiano dei Sette Comuni.
The 18th edition of Hoga Zait will be held from Friday 14 July to Sunday 23 July 2023 , offering a variety of activities and initiatives to discover the history, traditions, customs and traditions and Cimbrian legends of the Roanese territory.
During the Kermesse there will be the "Schellaträgar", the representatives of the six hamlets of the territory and custodians of the "Schella" (bell), who will welcome the guests of the world, and "Lustikh" and "Ramalòkh", the jesters and court storytellers of the Queen of the Woods, who will tell the adventures of various characters of the Cimbrian legends.
The activities proposed during the event are varied and designed specifically for various types of age, from workshops for children, to excursions and cultural evenings for adults. The themed workshops allow you to create small jobs, which children can take home as a memory of their experience. The excursions give everyone, tourists and residents, the opportunity to discover hidden corners of the six Roanese hamlets, through the stories of expert guides.
The evenings instead are focused on narratives and testimonies of experts, who explain and tell through book presentations and screenings of short films, the history and culture of our people.
The events are really numerous, in particular not to be missed: the opening parade with the Strìe and the Schellaträgar and the fire show; the concert at dawn by the Corni delle Dolomiti; the cooking masterclass by chef Massimo Spallino; thespettacolo Altaburg, musical story of an impossible love between the poet Zavra and the fairy Hydra, beautiful queen of the enchanted kingdom located on the Altaburg by Pierangelo Tamiozzo; "Andar per erbe" with Mr. Cantele and her daughter Lisa; the "Cuco exhibition-market" with the territorial associations of Cucari; the spectacle of the Zelighen Baiblen, a magical story in the woods of Cesuna with the characters of the Cimbrian legends directed by Moreno Corà; to end with the traditional crossing of the Val d'Assa, an ancient path in the valley floor, which was once covered before the construction of the Roana bridge, together with Asiago Guide and Schellaträgar.

Lisa will follow the little ones and, in the company of Consuelo Morello, will create a workshop with the harvest of the day: "A meadow of emotions".
