On Sunday, December 31, 2023, from 9.30 a.m., don't miss "IL FRONTE DI VAIA", A HISTORICAL-NATURALISTIC GUIDED SNOWSHOE HIKE ORGANIZED BY THE Pro Loco of Cesuna with Asiago Guide.
From the village of Cesuna, the guides will lead you to a fir forest for an immersion in nature, where you will be pervaded by the balsamic notes and the beauty of the winter forest.
Step by step you will cross what were the battlefields of Mount Lemerle during the First World War, as evidenced by the embrasures still visible today, the British command post, the memorial stones erected after the war and the young forest.
All along the beautiful and new "Path of Remembrance" that winds through the forest, able to fully witness the two shocking events that affected the area: the Vaia storm and the Great War.
The guide, interpreting the landscape, will take you on a journey through history to give you an experience in nature full of emotions!
Recommended for adults and children over 7 years old.

INFORMATION
MEETING POINT: 9.30 a.m. at Piazzale Ex Stazione.
We start on foot from the meeting point.
DIFFICULTY: we assign a difficulty of 2 on a scale from 1 (very easy) to 5 (challenging)
The route is a loop and does not present any particular technical difficulties. It develops between mountain paths and dirt roads. The difference in height is less than 200 m, there are no exposed sections.
The route will be established a few days before the event based on weather conditions and the presence of ice/snow.
In the event that there is not enough snow, you will proceed on foot without the aid of snowshoes.
WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU: waterproof mountain boots, layered clothing suitable for the mountain climate, waterproof jacket, hat, gloves, sunglasses, water or hot tea for the duration of the excursion, a small snack such as dried fruit.
COST: 5 € for the guided hike
Snowshoes and poles can be rented: €10 per person.
