On Sunday 27 September 2026, at about 11:00 am , the streets of the center of Asiago will come back to life to the sound of cowbells for the passage of transhumance, one of the most characteristic moments that accompany the end of the mountain pasture season on the Plateau.
The protagonist will be the herd of Malga Pian di Granezza, managed by the Pezzin Mirko Farm, which will return to the stables after the months spent on the pastures.
Its passage through the heart of the city will offer residents and visitors the opportunity to witness up close a custom that has belonged to the life of our mountains for centuries. Behind the spectacle of the cows crossing the streets of the center there is in fact a story made up of mountain pastures, pastures, daily work and care of the animals.
To accompany this return there will also be a gesture with a strong symbolic value: the delivery of the traditional "ciocca", the large bell intended for the cow that leads the herd, one of the most awaited moments of transhumance in Asiago.
For those who will witness the passage, it will therefore be much more than a simple parade: an authentic fragment of the life of the malga that, for a while, will enter the heart of Asiago, bringing sounds, gestures and atmospheres of a still alive tradition to the streets of the town.
The citizens and guests of the Plateau are invited to attend the transhumance and to share an event capable of telling, with simplicity and immediacy, the deep bond between the territory and the culture of the mountain pastures.
For those who want to extend the atmosphere of the day, on Sunday 27 September Malga Pian di Granezza will still be open: an opportunity to go up to the malga, stop for lunch and take home the cheeses and other products of the company, savoring the last glimpse of the mountain pasture season to the fullest.
