52nd Edition of ASIAGO FESTIVAL-screening of the film "the profession of arms"
For his fourth appointment, the 52nd Edition of "Asiago Festival" dedicates an evening to the great Director Ermanno Olmi, recently deceased.
At 20.30, at the Teatro Eliseo di Asiago will be screened the film "the profession of arms", film in competition at 54 º Festival de Cannes which tells of the last days of the life of John Bande Nere Giovanni De'Medici pseudonym of Ludwig, a soldier of fortune in the service of the Papal States during the Italian wars of Italy in the early 16th century.
Before the screening, a brief introduction to the film by Fabio Vacchi, guest composer with the soundtrack "the profession of arms" won the David di Donatello. Speakers also Julius Berger and Robert Banks.

ERMANNO OLMI
Born on 24 July 1931 in Bergamo, Ermanno Olmi was an Italian film director. He was a pioneer in the field of documentary, establishing itself with a personal language from works like "time stood still", "the recovering" and "Circumstance".
Great experimenter, led for the first time at the cinema the dialect as a language ("the tree of wooden clogs").
For years he lived in the Asiago plateau and founded the Ipotesi Cinema film school in Bassano del Grappa.
