52nd Edition of ASIAGO FESTIVAL-August 2018

From 6 to 15 August 2018, Asiago is preparing to host the concerts of the 52nd Edition of "Asiago Festival" musical event organized by the friends of music of Asiago "Fiorella Benetti Brazzale "that brings great music on theAltopiano dei Sette Comuni.

Like every year, the event will delight locals and tourists with 9 days of concerts really exciting, for 9 evenings of most beautiful music.

Inaugurating the Festival theOrchestra Grow in music directed by Sergio Gaertner, who, after the success of last year, brings back to the Strong Interrupted the music of Henry Purcell, with a staging of the opera King Arthur.

Tuesday, 7 to 21 will be the turn of Domenico Nordio, famous Italian violinist and artist known to the public of Asiago, who will perform a concerto for violin solo from baroque to the contemporary, with music by Biber, Bach, Reger, Prokofiev and Say to the Church of San Rocco.

Wednesday 8 will enact the return of "Chamber Music Workshop" with a concert dedicated to the centenary of the end of the great war.
Constant attention to young talents, Asiagofestival will exhibit at 21 at the theater Millepini teachers and students ofSimultaneous Ensemblefrom conservatives. During the concert will run the Quintet for piano and strings "across the river and into the trees" by Francesco Schweizer, based on the novel by Hemingway and commissioned by simultaneous, along with pieces by Schmitt and Fano compounds during the war.

The concerts will be preceded on Tuesday 7 and Wednesday 8 at 20.30 from an introductory lecture by the music critic Alexander Tamas.

From Friday 10 to Sunday 12 will be the focus on guest composer Fabio Vacchi, starting off with a tribute to Ermanno Olmi, with which Vacchi has had a long association. Director bergamasco will be screened Friday 10 at 20.30 at the Teatro Millepini "the profession of arms", whose soundtrack Vacchi received the David di Donatello, preceded by an introduction by the composer himself and Julius Berger, artistic director of Asiagofestival.

Always to be held Saturday 11 Millepini the second concert of "Chamber Music Workshop", which will see young soloists and grand masters perform in a tribute to composer guest as a sextet.

Sunday 12 at 11.30 at the Council Hall of the municipality of Asiago held finally the traditional meeting with the composer guest.
The day will continue with a concert at 21 at the theater Millepini which will see the pianist Igor Roma perform pieces by Beethoven and Debussy, of which marks the centenary of the death, and join the violinist Ilya Grubert and cellist Claudio Pai to complete the Trio in g minor by Smetana.

Monday, August 13 to 21, then, Julius Berger will perform the first three Suites for solo cello by Bach at the Church of San Rocco, then return Tuesday at 17 at the Fort Interrupted with the ensemble of cellos Cellopassionato, historian guest of the Festival, in a programme which from Bach and Mozart will get to the Cello Concerto of Schumann in version for cello solo and ensemble of cellos.

Concludes Asiagofestival 2018 the traditional concert for the assumption August 15, at the Cathedral of St. Matthew, with the Alessandro Bianchi on pieces by Bach, Esposito, Bossi, Peeter, Claussmann and Reger.

The Festival is realized with the contribution of the parish of Saint Matthew, the municipality of Asiago and the support of Great Moravia and Alpilatte-alpine butter. Each event is free entry.
