Ta Pum: paths of the great war in a long journey of remembrance
A journey of remembrance, which will kick off next August 24 when a historical expedition – alpinisticto will retrace in 53 stages a route from Livigno to Redipuglia, along the front line, crossing historical places and mountains of the great war. "Ta Pum" is the name of this project, sponsored by The Freeman Foundation, together with the Association of Carers of territory of Trentino and EvK2CNR Committee, the Press Office of the National Research Council.
Ta Pum takes its name from the sound of the rifle that has accompanied, incessant, the days and nights of many soldiers at the front, a sound evoked and toned down the remarks of one of the most famous and poignant songs of the first world war. In addition to the Alpine path, it is expected a hiking trail in stages, 35 from Trento in Trieste. Routes, for a total of more than 1,700 kilometers, have been studied in depth in order to represent, along the "path", truth, memory, identity, but also the State and the future of the territories crossed from the point of view of environmental, economic and social.
The Alpine path will cross all the military front 15-18, passing through the Stelvio, theOrtles-Cevedale, andAdamello-Presanella and via-via, the Pasubio, the Lagorai, the Marmolada, mountains of Cortinaand the Dolomites of Sesto, descending to the Slovenia along the monte Nero, the Kolovrat, until you get to Redipuglia.
Start instead by Trento the hiking path that from the Valsugana, touches the Asiago plateau, the monte Grappa, The Piave, the Montello and Vittorio Veneto to reach the Belluno pre-Alps to descend in Friuli, toward a vanishing point to Redipuglia mountaineering team to accomplish along the last stretch up to Trieste.
Both locations include places whose history is tied to some of the most significant moments of the conflict, and touching places, landscapes, cultures and traditions, absolutely unique in the world. The team that will travel the Alpine way and at the same time cultural is a restricted group composed of guides, climbers and some soldiers, who will be accompanied and supported for the duration of the Trek by communication professionals who provide the coverage necessary to raise awareness of this initiative to the general public to discover the story through the direct knowledge of the places and communities that have been protagonists.

The most challenging peaks are certainly not for everyone, but the organization provides for the creation of a network of "support points" where to stop, refuel and stay. The Prunno, the stage destination of the project
"The Prunno and the great war" is the theme of guided tours that can be booked for more sites around the plain that were the scene of war that have left numerous testimonies here. In the circumstances there are many testimonies related to World War I, particularly as regards the presence of British and French allies on the plateau, which in Prunno area merged.
