On Saturday 22 August 2026, at 17:00, an international literary event will be held at Fort Corbin "From Mexico to the Asiago Plateau" organized by the writer Alessio Bottene, who will present his novel entitled "Eva Maria. The Soldadera who spoke Latin".
A unique publishing case, published simultaneously in Italy on Amazon and in Mexico by the Monterrey publishing house "Los Ojos de Eva". Claudia Yvonne Juarez Alanis, founder of the Mexican publishing house, will be present as a special guest.
The dramatic story set at the time of the Mexican Revolution, speaks of friendship, survival and redemption between the story of Eva Maria, who from an orphan in a Chihuahua convent becomes a sniper in the legendary "division del norte", and her friend Marta, destined for a marriage of violence and oppression. The two friends, separated for several years and both marked by tragic experiences, will be able to find the strength to start over together, in the light of the new historical climate that promises a better future for all women.
At the end of the presentation it will be possible to buy the book and for the occasion the refreshment point of the fort will be open, for those wishing to dine in the open air.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Alessio Bottene, born in 1964 in the province of Vicenza, graduated in Hydraulic Engineering from the University of Padua in 1993. During his career he has worked as a consultant in the design and construction of industrial water purification plants.
Until 2018 he often visited Latin America, both for professional reasons and for personal travel. In 2018 he started a collaboration with a Mexican company active in his sector, spending about half of his time in Mexico. Here he approached the history of the Mexican Revolution through numerous readings, from which the inspiration for "Eva Maria. The Soldadera who spoke Latin", his first novel.
